The 95 runners attempting the first Cape Wrath Ultra™ arrived at The Nevis Centre in Fort William this morning, making their way there through some torrential rain and splashing along flooded roads, all no-doubt hoping the weather will be better during the race itself!

Before I start this adventure let me explain some important facts for potential Cape Wrath Ultra™ competitors.
First, I am writing this account of our journey in the hope that it will also be useful for other walkers considering the Cape Wrath Trail, and although many of the matters are transferable to the Ultra, they are not intended to be the definitive guide to the event or running the Trail - that's a more 'streamlined' set of advice that will come later.
